District leaders outline academic growth, belonging and finance priorities

District staff presented a strategic-plan progress update focused on four goal areas. Dr. Martelli described the Academic Excellence objectives—boosting the percentage of K–8 students who exceed annual growth in math and reading and increasing the share performing at grade level—along with initiatives to diversify learning and support teacher development.
Dr. Burnett reviewed Culture of Belonging workstreams, highlighting "Instructional Equity and Rigor," efforts to build a representative workforce, and gathering parent, student and staff insights. Ms. Jilek outlined Sustainable Finances and Facilities priorities: strategic facilities management and long-term planning, technology and cybersecurity reliability, and fiscal responsibility including exploring alternative funding and aligning the budget to district priorities.
