The Salt Creek School District 48 Board of Education voted Dec. 18 to file a 2025 tax levy of $12,758,284, representing a 4.55% increase over the district’s 2024 capped extension. Ms. Jilek told the board that the district held a public hearing and published the required legal notice before filing and said, "it will be the district's intent to levy 4.55%." The levy must be filed with the DuPage County Clerk by the county deadline later this month.
Mr. Blair moved to approve filing the levy and Mr. Van De Velde seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The board’s action authorizes district staff to submit the levy amount and complete statutory steps; the filing starts the local tax-caps and extensions process but does not itself change individual tax bills until county assessment calculations and extensions are finalized.
