Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Kristine Seifert told the River Trails School District 26 Board that the administration recommends adopting a six-year English language arts curriculum from HMH Education.
"The administration is recommending the approval of a six year program with HMH Education at a cost over 2 years of $285,670.55," Seifert said. She described the proposal as a multi-year adoption that would be brought to the board in April as a consent-agenda item for final action. The presentation noted the multi-year instructional timeline but did not include details on classroom materials distribution or phased implementation dates.
Board members did not take action at the March meeting. The administration advised that final contract terms, training schedules and budget coding will be included with the April consent packet. No public comments were recorded on the ELA recommendation during the meeting.
