Board elects Dave Ruben as chair, approves Oct. 3 minutes

The Nevada State Board of Fire Services voted to elect Dave Ruben as its new chair during its Jan. 14 meeting. Chief Joe Rodriguez suggested Ruben for the post; Charles McCall moved to approve Ruben as chair and Stephen Neel seconded. The motion carried.
The board also approved the Oct. 3, 2025 meeting minutes on a motion by Charles McCall, seconded by Stephen Neel. The board scheduled future meetings for April 29 (Las Vegas), July 22 (Carson City) and Sept. 17 (Reno, FireShowsWest) and expects a special November/December meeting to review bill draft requests (BDRs) and legislative issues. Chief Joe Rodriguez opened the meeting "at 10:00 a.m." and members adjourned at 11:30 a.m. after a motion from Stephen Neel seconded by Brandon Potts.
