New State Fire Marshal: offices toured, promotions made, budget and BDR planning underway

Chief Joe Rodriguez, newly installed as State Fire Marshal, told the board that "this was his second week officially as our State Fire Marshal and has hit the ground running," describing visits to the Southern Nevada office and meetings with the DPS Director and Deputy Director to assess facilities.
Rodriguez said the division is adjusting staffing and office space to accommodate positions approved by the legislature and announced promotions to two Deputy Chiefs, Albert Ruiz and Lt. Alex Knaak. He said it is time to begin the budget build and to consider Bill Draft Requests (BDRs) for the upcoming legislative cycle.
