Chair resigns; board plans future selection as Ruben offers to lead

Chief Joe Rodriguez called the Nevada State Board of Fire Services meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and informed members that "our Chair, Dale Way, just resigned a couple days ago," setting the stage for a leadership selection at a later date. Board members did not vote on a replacement during the Oct. 3 session. Dave Ruben told the board that selecting a future Chair will be an agenda item at the next meeting in January 2026. The board did not record further motions or votes on chair succession during the meeting.
