Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Amy McPartlin presented the renewal and meal-fee recommendation, explaining that contract costs and CPI-driven food price increases required adjustments. The Board approved the contract and the fee schedule in separate motions; both motions passed unanimously (7–0). The approved prices are $2.40 for breakfast and $4.55 for a paid lunch in grades K–8.
The renewal will be submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) as required. Visitors representing the contractor addressed the Board during visitor participation; Marisol Perez and Allison Brown “thanked the Board for allowing Organic Life to serve the students of District 23,” according to the meeting minutes. The district said it will continue to monitor federal NSLP reimbursement rates and meal costs during the contract year.
The renewal and fee vote were recorded in the meeting minutes as motions carried by the full board; the packet includes the proposed fee table and the signed renewal motion.
