Students showcase band, stop-motion animation and sign-language music in Lindop SD 92 "Spotlight on Success"

At the start of the May 13 meeting, Lindop School District 92 highlighted student work in a "Spotlight on Success." Ryan Wood, Band Director, introduced students who spoke about their experiences with school productions and how participation improved their lives. Carrie Schweiger, Art Teacher, described integrating stop-motion animation into grades 4–8 art classes and introduced students who played their project with a music background. Sophia Carter, Music Teacher, introduced students who demonstrated how they are learning to incorporate sign language to share the message and rhythm of music with people who cannot hear.
The presentations emphasized cross-disciplinary arts instruction and inclusive practices that let students communicate musical ideas to peers and community members with different hearing abilities. President Patterson later praised the expansion of the band program during his report and thanked staff for work on the Spring Showcase.
The board did not take separate action on the presentations; they were recognized as part of the meeting’s opening program.
