The Meagher County Board of Commissioners on July 13 approved a request to seek professional services for construction of a new Grassy Mountain Fire District building. Greg Philpot presented the request and told commissioners the Grassy Mountain Ranch Owner Association is donating part of the utility lot on the north side of the highway for the facility, and residents have helped prepare the site.
Commissioner Brewer moved to adopt Resolution FY26.27 #4 to authorize the professional‑services request, and Chairman Ben Hurwitz seconded the motion. The minutes record that the county will open the call for bids at the first commissioners meeting in August; Philpot said he will continue researching future tax implications, workers' compensation, insurance and the project budget.
