Trustees heard presentations from student groups and school programs and issued recognitions at the May 4 meeting. The board recorded "Exemplary Recognition for the Board" and individual recognitions for trustees Nick Evans, Steven Simler and Deneen Stewart.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Eastridge briefed the board on Staff Appreciation Week and reminded members of upcoming events; Associate Superintendent Nathan Freed thanked presenters, praised award-winning trustees and invited the board to a Cyber Security training for staff on May 5. Board members shared appreciation for school presentations, awards nights and student events; Mrs. Stewart also reported that the Harrison County Substance Abuse Council recruited students from South Central to assist in anti-drug and alcohol outreach.
