Chuck, the county treasurer, presented the May 2026 treasurer's report and provided an overview of the county's cash and investment position. He said Fund 10 is collateralized at about 130%, and that the county's invested cash in public pools is about 84% of its available cash. Chuck explained the county added a Texas Connect account and began investing in securities allowed under the PFIA; some juvenile detention center bond revenue was placed partly in liquidity and partly in securities.
Chuck said the pools are earning yields in the high 3% to low 4% range and that, if balances are maintained through year-end, the county could add roughly $1,000,000 to the fund in earnings. Commissioners praised the work and approved acceptance of the treasurer's report.
