Tommy Riggs presented the completed renewal packet for the Texas Association of Counties employee benefits pool and asked the court to approve continued county-paid medical insurance at the current benefit level. He said the TAC group rates for Kaufman County will increase about 4% and said that increase would amount to roughly $371,000 for the year based on current participation.
Tommy told commissioners the county will continue Blue Cross Blue Shield dental arrangements, that employees pay dental costs, and that dental rates will rise around 6.2% for participating employees. Commissioners approved the renewal and continued the county's full payment of employee medical insurance at the presented level.
