The Chanute Unified School District 413 Board of Education approved its consent agenda Feb. 4, 2026, which included hiring Jarred, Gilmore and Phillips, PA to perform the 2025–2026 fiscal audit and authorizing Board President Cassie Cleaver to sign the engagement letter.
The consent agenda also accepted a $500 donation from Sunflower Chapter #147 Order of the Eastern Star designated for "Debbie's Fund," and 21 shirts for the CMS Scholars' Bowl team valued at $275.94 from Home Savings Bank. The board additionally approved surplus and proper disposal of 175 Middle School choir shirts bearing the Rocket logo. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Heather Guernsey, seconded by Jennifer Zywietz, and carried with six votes in favor and one absence.
