Summary
Development services proposed a $43,100 budget increase largely to pay a cloud-hosted GIS portal ($38,000); staff said subdivision review is fee-supported and stormwater permit fees collected about $10,000 since Oct. 1 will cover part of the added costs.

The head of development services told the commissioners the department’s budget rose by $43,100, and that most of that increase ($38,000) is for hosting and maintaining the county’s GIS portal in the cloud. The portal has returned online to public access and moving it to a hosted solution freed server capacity for other county needs.
Staff said stormwater permit fees collected since Oct. 1 totaled roughly $10,000 and that subdivision application fees are collected up front; the department uses those revenues to cover review costs and administrative overhead. The presenter also discussed an increase in the investigative search subscription due to rising caseloads and said parts-and-repairs increases were modest.
