Treasurer Chuck reported to the Commissioners Court that the county's general fund is well collateralized and that investment posture remains steady as the county prepares for FY 2027.
"We are collateralized at the bank at 137.44%, so we're very well collateralized," Treasurer Chuck said, noting about 78% of free cash is held in investment accounts and average yields are roughly 3.7%–3.8%. The court asked no follow-up questions and approved the treasurer's April 2026 report by motion.
Court members expressed satisfaction with the collateralization and yield levels as staff proceed with budget scheduling for the next fiscal year.
