Mount Vernon SD 80 approves dozens of summer hires, several resignations and a retirement revision
Summary

The board recessed to closed session and returned to open session at 8:15 p.m., then approved a large set of personnel items. "Motion by Nunnery, seconded by Flanigan to hire certified personnel, as presented," recorded the minutes; the board approved numerous 21st CCLC summer-school teachers for May 27–June 23. The minutes list certified hires including Denae Jones, Rhonda Miller, Vanessa Hernandez and others.
The board also approved classified staffing for the Summer Feeding Program (May 21–July 31, excluding June 19 and July 4) and multiple 21st CCLC aides; accepted resignations from several staff members; approved one extracurricular hire (Savannah Reynolds as chess-club sponsor for 2026–27) and a retirement revision for Curriculum Director Paula Metcalf. All personnel motions carried by roll call.
