Mount Vernon SD 80 to reissue bids for school safety entrances, aims for summer 2027 construction

Superintendent Ryan Swan told the board that no construction bids were submitted for the safety-entrance project at Dr. Nick Osborne Primary Center and J.L. Buford. "My recommendation is to go back out for bids in July or August in hopes of securing construction for the summer of 2027," Swan said. The board approved reopening the bidding process on a 6–0 roll call.
Board members did not record additional amendments to the project scope at the meeting. The motion to reopen bids was made by Ryan Burge and seconded by Brian Blok; the board vote was unanimous among members present.
