Board ratifies teachers contract, updates job descriptions and approves multiple hires
Summary

After returning from executive session, the board unanimously approved an agreement between the Rankin Association of Teachers and the Rankin Board of Education effective July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029. The agreement was presented and approved by roll call vote.
Following that ratification, trustees approved an updated bookkeeper/secretary job description and evaluation template and several personnel hires: Karie Parker as 2nd Shift Lead Custodian (retroactive to April 22, 2026, at $17.45 per hour); Amanda McGinn as Social Studies Teacher for 2026–2027 contingent on ISBE licensure and onboarding at BS Step 0; Ray Koonce as Head Softball Coach; and Eric Myers as Assistant Baseball Coach. All personnel motions carried unanimously.
