The Rankin Board approved a package of routine contracts and payments on May 4, including a student accident insurance renewal with Gerber Life Insurance ($820), payment to Donnie Uselton for shot put safety net poles, Application for Payment #1 to J.A. Fritch & Sons for RTU-3 replacement, a Building Automation System maintenance agreement with Technical Solutions Services, and a firewall replacement from STL. Most motions passed unanimously; two motions (insurance renewal and payment to Donnie Uselton) passed with Member Lowman recorded as abstaining (5-0-1).
The board also adopted revised special education procedures (revised March 2026) to assure comprehensive programming for children with disabilities and approved school fees for 2026–2027. In contrast, the board rejected the Tazewell County School Facility Sales Tax Resolution by a unanimous "Nay" vote (0-6).
