The Benzie County Central Board of Education approved the purchase of Chromebooks, touchscreens and charging carts for middle school classrooms during its Feb. 9 meeting.
The motion (25‑26‑071) "to approve the Chromebooks and Chromebook Carts Purchase - Not to exceed $90,500" was moved by Mrs. Gillison, supported by Mr. Barnard, and carried 6‑0. The administration noted the purchase will be paid using the majority of remaining bond funds.
In its presentation, staff requested up to 250 Chromebooks, 50 touchscreens and eight charging carts for middle‑school classrooms. Trustees recorded the vote and authorized the expenditure; the administration will proceed with procurement consistent with district purchasing rules.
