Resident praises Yorktown staff for support during family crisis

"This community, this district, these amazing staff members are doing so much behind the scenes that the average person would never know," Thornburg said, adding that his family and daughters had been helped by administrators, teachers, bus drivers and custodians. He said he is "proud to say I'm a Tiger now" and urged the board to take time to recognize positive district work instead of focusing only on problems.
Chair and board members received the comment and allowed it to stand as an expression of community appreciation; no formal action was associated with the public comment.
