The Yorktown board voted to approve an agreement with Context Design to provide design and engineering oversight for the softball project and related submittals.
"Make a motion to approve the agreement with context design," one board member said, and the motion passed after a roll-call-style confirmation. A final voice tally was recorded as "Motion carries 5 0."
Several trustees emphasized prior soil and compaction issues on adjacent projects and asked Context Design to review engineering reports and site lessons learned. One member told the board he wanted the firm to be fully aware of earlier site problems so the district does not repeat mistakes when the concrete and surfaces are installed.
Outcome: agreement approved 5–0; staff will coordinate with Context Design on engineering reports and next steps for the bid and procurement process.
