Commissioners adopt policy to reimburse Election Board for overtime and part-time pay under FLSA guidance

The Texas County Board approved Resolution #179-25-26 to align Election Board compensation and reimbursement procedures with U.S. Department of Labor and State Auditor guidance. The resolution directs the County Treasurer to reimburse the County Election Board General Fund for overtime, part-time compensation, travel, meeting compensation and the employer's share of Social Security for precinct officials and other election workers when an election is conducted by an external entity.
The resolution cites IRS regulations and specifically directs compliance with Title 62, Section 335 of the Oklahoma Statutes. It becomes effective July 1, 2026, and will be renewed annually by resolution on or before July 1. Commissioners voted Aye: Sledge, Bickford and Edwards to adopt the policy.
County Clerk Wendy Johnson attested the resolution at the meeting.
