School administrators reported a series of end-of-year activities and testing timelines during the May 18 Algonac Board of Education meeting. High school representative Ryan Melrose said M-STEP testing should be complete by the end of the day May 19 and that NWEA testing will begin; he also noted performances, fundraisers and scheduled events including seniors' last day on May 22 and graduation on June 5. Brooklynn Lestage and Amber Palicke reported elementary activities including camp, book studies, PTO Staff Appreciation Week and field trips for TK through first grade.
Administrators also highlighted student activities and school-led wellness events: David Licari organized ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) in which all elementary students participated, and performing arts programs from multiple schools presented Shrek, Jr. The reports were presented as informational items and no board action was taken on these updates.
