Winfield board approves keycard installation and two facility/security assessments

The Winfield School District 34 Board of Education approved several facility-security actions at its March 26 meeting, including a key-card access installation by GoldyLocks priced at $30,292 and contracts for two assessments: IMEG's mechanical systems assessment at $6,000 and a security assessment from the DuPage Regional Office of Education at $3,850. Each item was moved by Board Member Matt Tibble and seconded by Heather Armstrong, and all passed on roll-call votes with board members recorded as voting "Yea."
Administrators said the IMEG assessment and ROE security audit are part of the district's capital-plan next steps and that the FGM health life-safety assessment was postponed to April to allow presentation of the full scope. The district also listed near-term projects to be completed soon, including repainting the primary gym floor, roofing work on the one-room schoolhouse, fire-control-panel installation at Central, and LED lighting upgrades in the commons and band room.
The key-card project will be funded via the State Maintenance Grant as recorded in the minutes. The board did not enter detailed procurement deliberations on the record during the open meeting; all approvals were recorded as unanimous roll-call votes.
