The consent motion, made by Karen Lopp and seconded by Barbara Smith, passed unanimously (7-0). The minutes list multiple specific personnel actions: Amanda Atkins was approved as an English teacher at Corydon Central High School effective with the 2026–2027 school year; Larry Keehn’s retirement was accepted effective March 31, 2026; Lisa Brightman’s retirement was accepted effective June 11, 2026; Melissa Taylor’s retirement was accepted effective June 12, 2026; and Sharon Mizell’s resignation for retirement is effective June 1, 2026. The board also authorized posting of several vacated positions and creation of new roles such as MTSS Coordinator and Activity Supervisor.
Board members recorded approval of summer-school hires (including math and science instructors) and a range of assistant coaching and activity positions for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 school years. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Karen Lopp and seconded by Barbara Smith; roll-call votes were recorded as Yea from Nick Evans, Larry Hauswald, Karen Lopp, Mary Mathes, Steven Simler, Barbara Smith and Deneen Stewart.
The personnel items were included in the consent package to streamline action on routine appointments, retirements and postings ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.
