Ryan Spencer, the district’s technology lead, briefed the board on a proposal to purchase iPads for third- and eighth-grade students and on the district’s replacement cycle for classroom devices.
"Discussion ensued regarding replacement cycle, number of devices, insurance and disposal of old devices," Spencer said. Trustees questioned estimated device counts and asked about insurance coverage and environmentally responsible disposal of retired devices. No formal purchase motion or vote is recorded in the March 9 minutes.
Staff will return with specifics on quantities, costs, insurance options and disposal plans so the board can consider a formal purchase authorization at a future meeting.
