The board filled two open seats on the SEAB after hearing three-minute introductions from each candidate and conducting a ranked-choice vote.
Superintendent Kapolka explained the voting process and the board read members' first and second choices aloud. "Anthony Bellizzi received seven (7) votes. Holly Kifer received four (4) votes," the minutes record. A motion to approve the two candidates, made by Heidi Reyst and seconded by Glenn Fox, passed with six votes recorded and one member absent.
Members who listed first and second choices are recorded in the minutes and the board thanked applicants for their interest. The minutes list all candidates considered: Anthony Bellizzi; Vanessa Calabria; Jennifer Dewy; Ahruh Hayes; Holly Kifer; Zach Porter; Claire Robinson; Melissa Smith; Katherine Wagner; Elizabeth Wiseley.
Board members did not record objections; the motion to appoint the two top vote-getters concluded the SEAB appointment portion of the agenda.
