Ryan Spencer presented technology infrastructure recommendations: a districtwide wireless access point replacement funded by the 2019 bond, and a structured cabling upgrade timed with planned renovations of the Young 5s wings and portions of the PLECC building. Spencer said the new access points are expected to arrive in June and be installed over the summer.
Board member Sara Tracy asked about equipment life cycles; Tracy noted a roughly 10-year service life for access points and sought confirmation about reuse of older devices. The structured cabling will be funded from the sinking fund and performed by outside vendors as part of the renovation schedule.
