County staff updated supervisors on progress at the county detention facility and asked the board to approve invoices and a deposit for kitchen equipment.
John, the staff presenter, said corrections and mechanical work are largely complete and that epoxy flooring and security glazing remain on the schedule. "So we're still set, you know, for completion of project in the end of November on the existing building," he said. The board reviewed several invoices and a pay application for July 1 listing project items and a total draw of $406,128.91. Separately, staff requested approval of $31,339.78 for kitchen equipment with a 50% deposit of $15,669.78 to be paid from the room-and-board fund; the board moved and approved payment.
The board also discussed previously approved change orders and the need for signatures to finalize contract amendments. Supervisors asked staff to circulate the signed documents and to ensure change-order amounts already approved are reflected in the project-cost recap. No new change orders were introduced at the meeting; staff indicated paperwork for already-approved modifications would be brought forward for signatures.
