Superintendent Leach provided several informational updates during the May 11 meeting, including that the district's tech-mileage measure passed and will be renewed for an additional five years and that the all-state music festival in East Lansing went well. He noted Auxilio rolled out new bus routes last Thursday and Tech Director Tom Liitchford is beginning a phased rollout of the 'Rooms' app to replace district Facebook communications.
During board comments, Trustee Carol Reaume urged the board to search for additional anti-bullying options and training the district could adopt. Trustee Crystal Root thanked teachers, staff and nurses for recent recognition, and Board President Christian Freshour reiterated the desire to consider more training and support for staff dealing with bullying issues.
Trustees did not take formal action on bullying options during this meeting but recorded the discussion as a board priority for potential future action.
