Longview Lake Beach reopened after follow-up tests clear initial E. coli result

Jackson County officials said Longview Lake Beach will reopen after follow-up testing cleared an initial water-quality result.
"Follow-up testing confirmed the water is well within acceptable range for swimming and the beach is safe to reopen," the county executive said during the July 15 meeting. County officials said the initial elevated result was caused by a bad water sample and that public health and safety remain a top priority.
The executive also noted upcoming agenda items for the next meeting, including litigation matters and distribution of ARPA funds, and encouraged full membership at the July 20 session so the legislature can act on outstanding items.
