The Lake Shore Board of Education voted to approve a one-year extension of the district's Food Service Management Company contract with Chartwells for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion, made by Kenneth Gulock and seconded by Amy Thomas-August, passed 6–0 with one absent trustee.
Board President Kurt Ziegler reiterated that the extension represents the second year of a previously negotiated four-year deal. The contract extension was approved without dissent at the April 27 meeting; the board did not discuss changes to service terms in the public portion of the meeting.
