Superintendent Ethan Ebenstein told the board the district provided support to Ionia Public after the recent passing of an administrator, and noted an upcoming Kent ISD visit to the Autism Education Center building and safety and security training opportunities including a tabletop exercise to be hosted at Ionia ISD. "Staff provided support to lonia Public during the recent passing of an administrator; Kent ISD's upcoming visit to the Autism Education Center building; Safety & Security Training Opportunities with Kent ISD, including an upcoming tabletop exercise that will be held at the lonia ISD; Legislative update," the minutes record.
Special Education Director Natalie Fuller reported planning for a Department of Education visit in January and said the district has seen positive outcomes from its partnership with Michigan's Resources for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. Technology Director John Milewski said "Construction of the Technology room has been completed, with many advantages being noted;" he also reported Montcalm ISD's Technology Director has resigned. These items were presented for board awareness and no formal action was required beyond acceptance as reports.
