Board hears bond update: Northern Hills design to go to bid, multi-year construction plan

During the finance and bond construction update, the district’s designer (Chris at GMB referenced in the report) outlined a multi-phase plan for Northern Hills Middle School intended to improve wayfinding, increase purposeful outdoor spaces and create a cohesive, brighter entry experience. The design pieces are scheduled to go out to bid in September and the board should expect the construction contract on the November agenda.
Finance staff reported the project will be delivered in seven phases starting as early as April 2026 and concluding around September 2028. Several summer projects—including playground installations and Pine Ridge construction—are near completion; the board was told an aquatic center presentation is planned for September, with approval expected in November.
