The Forest Hills Board of Education opened its Aug. 11 meeting by recognizing Forest Hills Eastern’s 2025 MHSAA Division II state-championship baseball team and presenting a coach-of-the-year honor.
Athletic director Robert Hall told the board the season was “an incredible season” and credited turnout and the district’s new complex for hosting postseason play. Head coach Ian Hearn—introduced by the board—described the season as “absolutely amazing” and highlighted the team’s record: "we were the number 1 team in the state of Michigan ... final record was 42 and 1," and noted a 41-game winning streak. Board members congratulated the players and coaches and invited those present to stay for the business portion but said they did not have to remain for the full meeting.
