Principals report winter programs, student honors and present plaque recognizing late Brian Kelley

Building principals provided updates on school activities, academic reporting and community events during the Jan. 15 board meeting.
Lewis Whitson reported on Hartford High School and Neosho Rapids Elementary activities including the Winter Music Program, first-semester grades, report cards and honor roll, upcoming interim assessment windows, annual Spelling Bees, rescheduled athletic contests due to inclement weather, LETR staff training, and the 'Jag Brag' tickets and store program. He also noted a Chili Feed for James Nunley and the Class of 2022's presentation of a plaque and Jaguar emblem with a flag to the family of the late Brian Kelley for his service to the nation and support of Hartford Junior/Senior High School; the plaque and flag will be displayed in the commons area.
Julianna Schmid provided Olpe High School and Olpe Elementary updates, including the Honor Flight pancake feed fundraiser, Freedom Fest donation, FFA toy drive and grade-level activities. Schmid thanked the board during Board Appreciation Month for their dedication to district staff and students.
No board action was required on these presentations. The reports will inform upcoming district planning and community events.
