Mason Board introduces new Harvey Education Center principal, Emelia Brown

The Mason Board of Education on May 14 introduced Emelia Brown as the new principal for Harvey Education Center. Superintendent Dr. Gary Kinzer delivered the introduction and trustees applauded the hire.
"She is looking forward to meeting all of the staff at Harvey Education Center and touring the building," Brown said, thanking the board for the warm welcome. Dr. Kinzer also expressed appreciation for interim principal Chris Groves and for staff members Melissa Netzel and Randy Barton who supported the school during the transition.
The board did not vote on the hire at the meeting; the introduction and remarks were part of the special reports and recognition section. Trustees proceeded with routine business including financial approvals and policy updates before adjourning at 7:59 p.m.
