The Mendon Community School District Board of Education voted April 20 to adopt revisions to NEOLA Policies 3440 and 4440 governing employee expense reimbursements. The updated rates set meal reimbursements at $10 for breakfast, $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner.
Superintendent Leasa Griffith-Mathews told the board the reimbursement amounts had not been revised since 1996 and recommended the updates to reflect current costs. The motion to approve the policy revisions was made by DyAnn Steinberger and supported by Sonya Moyle; the motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent.
Board members said the change aligns district policy with more recent cost expectations and will appear in the employee handbook and expense procedures. The policies were introduced as part of a larger NEOLA Volume 40 update; this vote approved the specific reimbursement changes presented at first reading.
