The Mendon Community Schools Board voted Jan. 19 to adopt Winter Budget Amendments for the General Fund, Food Service and Special Revenue.
Business Manager Lisa VanZoest told the board the district had budgeted down by 10 students and had budgeted $50 less per pupil than the final Foundation Allowance; the amendment raises the General Fund balance to 30.06% from the proposed 29.5%. VanZoest also said the Food Service amendment "increases fund equity from 25.03% to 37.57%" due to positive effects from the summer food program. The Special Revenue amendment (the district's former activity account) had only minor net changes.
Trustee Roger Cupp moved to approve the Winter Budget Amendments and Trustee Sonya Moyle supported the motion. The board approved the amendments 6 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent. The minutes thank VanZoest for her efforts in preparing the budget materials.
