It has been truly a godsend to me with some stuff that I've got going on," she said, while stressing the need for "a whole bunch of energy on my end" and external expert guidance. Other trustees echoed the need for balance between appropriate classroom use and protections for younger students.
What comes next: board members suggested the administration explore policies and resources and bring recommendations to the board. Several trustees asked for district-level guidance that could be informed by state or national experts rather than leaving each teacher to set rules independently.
