"Her abstention from the vote is pursuant to MCL 380.1203," President Kristen Cambensy said when explaining her decision to abstain because of her MARESA board membership. The motion carried 5-0 with one abstention.
What the vote means: the district must submit any specific objections or proposed changes to the ISD budget to MARESA before June 1, 2026. The board's action expresses local support rather than implementing direct budget changes within the district.
