The Monroe Public Schools Board of Education voted to contract All Court Inc. to sand and refinish the upper gymnasium floor at Monroe High School at a cost not to exceed $18,150, the district’s facilities presenter told trustees.
"We're asking the board to move to approve the following services to sand and refinish the upper gymnasium at Monroe High School from All Court Inc. at a cost not to exceed $18,150," Mister Payne said while presenting the request, noting funds will come from the district site sinking fund. A board member moved the motion and the board carried it by roll call vote.
During discussion trustees asked for clarification about which space would be affected; Payne explained the district has two gyms and the project covers the upper gym area that gets a full sanding every five to six years. The board did not amend the dollar amount on the floor; the motion passed as presented.
The board recorded the vote by roll call and the chair announced the motion passed. The district staff said the work is being scheduled to finish before the winter wrestling season.
