Officials: bed-bug treatment now contractor-only; housing staff lack equipment for in-house pesticide work

The executive director said in-house bed-bug work is "completely done in Bellingham" and that maintenance staff do not have the equipment or experience to perform pesticide treatment correctly. "I'm not doing that. That's not what we have, the equipment or the experience in, to do it correctly and get it done," she said. Officials said Tri Valley and other service partners have been engaged for assistance when resident prep or support is needed.
