Planned Parenthood Great Plains seeks county support to train clinicians and expand local services

Ariel Sudrick of Planned Parenthood Great Plains told the committee PPGP operates five centers in the Kansas City area, two in Jackson County, and asked for county support to train two advanced practice clinicians in specialized procedures and services. Sudrick framed the request as a strategy to reduce barriers caused by provider shortages and earlier program disruptions: "This grant would directly support 2 Jackson County based advanced practice clinicians," the presenter said.
PPGP emphasized the role of training in adding services such as colposcopy and menopause care and noted state‑level disruptions (Title X pause and Medicaid funding uncertainty) have exacerbated provider shortages. Legislators thanked the organization and encouraged further requests as the county evaluates 2027 allocations.
