The Swartz Creek Community Schools Board of Education convened July 13, 2026, at 6:01 p.m. Board President Chuck Melki called the meeting and recorded members present. The board added an agenda item to discuss correspondence from Attorney Delaporte and noted the discipline hearings for student #20271 and student #20272; both parents requested closed sessions.
Autumn Henry moved, seconded by Jenni Wolgast, to enter closed session; the roll-call vote was 7-0 and the board went into closed session at 6:20 p.m. The board returned to open session at 8:24 p.m. In open session the board recorded motions by Andrea Fick, seconded by Jenni Wolgast, approving disciplinary actions for student #20271 and student #20272; both motions passed 6-1 with Chuck Melki voting no. During the meeting the board voted to authorize up to $2,500 to Attorney Delaporte to file an appeal related to a property transfer hearing; that motion passed 5-1 with Jenni Wolgast voting no. Autumn Henry left the meeting at 8:30 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. by motion of Andrea Fick, seconded by Ken Engel.
