Crow Wing County honors 2024 Fire Officer of the Year from Garrison

Each year, Crow Wing County recognizes outstanding leadership in the local fire service. Administrative Services Director Jory Danielson told the board the program presents two officer awards, one for departments in cities under 10,000 and one for larger departments, and introduced Jen Eleroz of Garrison Fire and Rescue as the 2024 winner for cities under 10,000.
"Each year, two fire officer of the year awards are presented to well deserving members of the fire service," Danielson said, noting the selection emphasizes "leadership, innovation, professional development, integrity, service to the public and contributions to the fire service as a whole." He highlighted Eleroz's role organizing the Cuyuna Range women's fire expo and her progression from first responder to assistant chief as reasons for the honor.
Danielson and board members thanked Eleroz for volunteer service and noted the county's appreciation for fire service contributions across the region. The board paused for photos and brief remarks after presenting the award.
