County forms committee to plan 250th anniversary event; Judge/Executive presents association donation to Help Center

Judge/Executive Scott Bates proposed organizing a large county-wide celebration for the nation's 250th anniversary and recommended forming a planning committee to coordinate fireworks, music, food trucks, sponsors and volunteer participation across cities and organizations. The Court selected a committee composed of Esquire Ed Frederick (chair), Esquire Brad Fisher and Esquire Carl Tingle and asked them to report back at the March meeting.
Separately, Bates said the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association initiated a program giving $1,000 to each county and that Henry County was selected to receive the first check. He presented the donation to Joe Durbin on behalf of the Henry County Help Center and described the Help Center as the beneficiary for the funds.
What’s next: the planning committee will convene and report to the Fiscal Court in March about event scope, sponsorship and budget needs; the Help Center received the initial $1,000 donation.
