The landbank authorized accepting the donation of 2388 Meister Road, the former police substation in Lorain, contingent on Lorain City Council approval.
City representative Matt Kusznir explained the city continues to receive tax bills and interest on the property and would like to clear the lien by donating the site to the landbank. Acting Assistant Director James Miller told the board the city can donate the parcel and the lien "will go away" if donated. The board adopted RESOLUTION NO. 2026-7; Commissioners Moore, Talarek, Gallagher and Riddell voted aye and Mayor Jack Bradley abstained.
The item was recorded as a donation pending council action; the city will determine whether it moves forward with donation to enable redevelopment opportunities in that area.
