Parents have language-access and enrollment rights under Title III, CCISD says

A presenter with Clear Creek ISD federal programs outlined parental rights tied to Title III, Part A and federal law. The presenter said families "have the right to receive school information in a language you understand and access to trained interpreters, and I mean trained adults, not another student translating for you."
The presenter reiterated that parents may approve or decline the program offered, request a program switch, or opt out entirely at any time. The district also stressed that being an emergent bilingual student does not close doors to other opportunities like pre-kindergarten, gifted-and-talented programs, or career and technical courses.
